Program Director

David Theige, MD
Dr. Theige is Program Director of the Transitional Year Residency Program, Assistant Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine. He is also a general internist and hospitalist at MeritCare. Dr. Theige completed his medical degree and his internal medicine residency at UNDSMHS, and a Primary Care Faculty Development Fellowship at Michigan State University. He is a past-President of Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine and has served as Assistant Dean for Clinical Education at UNDSMHS. His academic interests include evidence-based medicine and healthcare quality improvement.
