Greetings! My name is David Abbott and I am the program director and have been since 1995. I bring to this position many years of diverse psychiatric practice and a deep interest and experience in administration and teaching. I come from a long line of preachers (though never one myself), but I try not to let that influence my teaching style, nor do I believe my managerial decisions to be divinely inspired. My philosophy with the residency program is that we are all in this together, residents and faculty, for the purpose of educating residents, and that it ought to be something we do together, not to each other. I think we are succeeding quite well at implementing that here, where the residents participate actively in the administration of the program. All of us are very proud of the overall quality of the learning environment in our program.
