The Family Medicine Residency Program prepares resident-physicians with the knowledge and skills they will need to practice family medicine in an increasingly complex society. Special emphasis is placed on training residents for practice in rural areas of the Midwest where the need is perceived to be the greatest.
With campuses in Minot and Bismarck, N.D., our program is fully accredited and known for creating knowledgeable, sensitive, and caring physicians who regard each patient as an important individual. Our residents learn to consider the unique role of each patient in the context of family, community, and society.
Rotations in our three-year program are based on a one-on-one resident to faculty ratio, which allows for the best learning and teaching experience. Residents usually receive their choice of preceptors for rotations and gain invaluable, hands-on experience in patient care.
