With the ever-increasing use of the internet in our daily lives, the National Science Foundation (NSF) now requires that grant proposals be submitted electronically using either the Grants.gov website or the NSF FastLane website.  This section of the Research Administration website deals specifically with the NSF FastLane website.

Keep in mind that a hard copy of all proposals need to be routed through the proper channels for signatures before the electronic proposal can be sent to the agency.

Here is some information on the NSF FastLane website, which is located at http://www.fastlane.nsf.gov/fastlane.jsp.

What is the NSF FastLane?

FastLane is the National Science Foundation (NSF) online website through which they conduct their relationship to researchers and potential researchers, reviewers, and research administrators and their organizations.

In collaboration with NSF, more than 250,000 people use FastLane each year.

Most work in FastLane is carried out in the modules that are displayed in the menu at the top of the FastLane Home Page screen.

The FastLane modules are:

•   Proposals, Awards, and Status

•   Proposal Review

•   Panelist Functions

•   Research Administration

•   Financial Functions

•   Honorary Awards

•   Graduate Research Fellowship Program

•   Postdoctoral Fellowship and Other Programs
