Welcome to the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and to the 2008 Medical School for the Public series entitled "Drugs and Bugs: Medical Education from Lab to Community". We are proud to share with you the newest advances in medical education and biomedical research. We encourage your involvement, participation and curiosity as a central part of your educational process.
Our faculty and administration have taken major steps to make this series a good learning experience. You will be using state-of-the-art classrooms that are equipped with new technology which will offer learning in a variety of ways. This series is being viewed by a statewide audience through both Internet web casting and teleconferencing. You will be part of a large dialogue between participants in Grand Forks, Fargo, Bismarck and Minot.
As a participant in the Medical School for the Public you will be involved in a four-week evening lecture series taught by experts in medicine and health from the UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The Spring 2008 session provides the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of various health topics and the science behind them.
Again, on behalf of the entire medical school, I am delighted to welcome you to see how medical students are trained, to meet faculty who are experts in many fields, and to learn about certain topics related to "drugs and bugs".
Sincerely,
H. David Wilson, M.D.
Vice President for Health Affairs and Dean
