Announcements for MBIO 202 Lecture

First day of lecture is Wednesday August 26, 2009

Required text is “Microbiology: An Introduction”, by Tortora, Funke and Case, 10th edition, 2010, (Pearson), Benjamin Cummings Pub.

Optional duplicated lecture notes are available for purchase at either campus bookstore, and will also available for download from Blackboard.

Students who enrolled in MBIO 202 this spring while enrolled in either Chem 116 or Chem 121, and subsequently failed the chemistry course, will be dropped from MBIO 202 by the Registrar’s Office.

First day of lab is Thursday August 27, 2009

Required lab materials are the duplicated lab procedures entitled “Procedures for the Undergraduate Microbiology Laboratory” by Sailer, which are available at both campus bookstores, and “A Photographic Atlas for the Microbiology Laboratory” by Leboffe and Pierce, 3rd edition, Morton Pub.

Attendance in MBIO 202 lab is mandatory. After 3 unexcused absences from lab, students will receive a grade of “F”.  Students enrolled in lab must attend lab the first week in order to hold their spot.  If, for any reason, a student must miss lab the first week, they must call Fran Sailer at 777-4034 and request that their spot in lab be held.
