Welcome to the home page for the UND School of Medicine's Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG).
Take a look at What's New in our web.

EMIG was established in 2003 by medical students who were interested in pursuing a career in Emergency Medicine. The group serves as a medium through which members can learn more about the specialty of Emergency Medicine  by participating in group discussions, attending lectures provided by guest EM physicians, and networking with current EM Residents as well as EM interested students and programs at other institutions.

What's New

The following is a list of recent additions to our web. Whenever we publish a paper, write a specification, submit a status report, or add anything else to our web, we'll put a notice here. Every month we'll remove the oldest items. The most recent changes are listed first, and each item is linked to the page with the updated content.

April 2007

Congrats to the recently matched MS-IVs!!!  UND students continue to secure match positions at top-level programs throughout the Midwest, and continue to branch out to the East Coast this year.

Plans are in the works for more teleconferences with the SUNY Upstate Medical University Dept. fo Emergency Medicine (Syracuse, NY).  Our next conference will likely occur in Nov. 2007 with a focus on Toxicology.

The North Dakota Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) recently met during their annual meeting at the ND State EMS conference.  A number of members have indicated interest in mentoring the UND EMIG and providing their time for lectures, etc.  This provides an excellent opportunity for UND students to gain exposure to EM-trained physicians and good framework of  networking opportunities to use to our advantage.
