Objectives of the Elective:

Learn history and physical exam for the ear, nose, throat - larynx and
neck.

Become familiar with common diseases of the ear, sinuses, nose and throat,
facial plastic and head and neck cancer.
Instructional Activities:
-
Examine patient in an office setting.
-
View video tapes on relevant ENT, head and neck, and facial plastic topics.
-
Audiology.
-
Learn to give succinct, relevant presentation of cases.
-
Participate in minor procedures including laser.
-
Participate in surgical procedures in the OR.
-
ENT, facial plastics, and head and neck patients follow-up at the hospital.
Standards of Performance (Outcomes) Indicating Attainment of Objectives:
Performance in office.
Criteria for Grading:
Subjective - based on student's performance in the clinic. A written evaluation
will be submitted to the assistant dean of the northeast campus.
