Objectives of the Elective:

  1. Learn history and physical exam for the ear, nose, throat - larynx and neck.
  2. Become familiar with common diseases of the ear, sinuses, nose and throat, facial plastic and head and neck cancer.

Instructional Activities:

  1. Examine patient in an office setting.
  2. View video tapes on relevant ENT, head and neck, and facial plastic topics.
  3. Audiology.
  4. Learn to give succinct, relevant presentation of cases.
  5. Participate in minor procedures including laser.
  6. Participate in surgical procedures in the OR.
  7. ENT, facial plastics, and head and neck patients follow-up at the hospital.

Standards of Performance (Outcomes) Indicating Attainment of Objectives:

Performance in office.

Criteria for Grading:

Subjective - based on student's performance in the clinic. A written evaluation will be submitted to the assistant dean of the northeast campus.
