Objectives of the Elective:

1.         Exposure to a wide variety of plastic and hand surgical procedures and techniques.

2.         Learn problem solving in plastic and hand surgical cases.

3.         Understand plastic/hand surgical techniques and application..

4.         Understanding of basic surgical and clinical plastic/hand principles.

Instructional Activities:

1.         Assisting in OR.

2.         Surgical procedure suturing.

3.         Surgical and clinical office rounds.

Standards of Performance (Outcomes) Indicating Attainment of Objectives:

1.         Observation of improvement in surgical knowledge and understanding abilities.

2.         Appropriate patient interaction.

Criteria for Grading:

1.         Basic surgical knowledge.

2.         Problem solving clinical performance.

3.         Basic surgical techniques.
