Positions: One for each faculty physician listed, student may choose who he wishes.

Objectives of the Elective:

  1. History and physical on vascular patients admitted for surgery.
  2. Review treatment plans.
  3. Manage preoperative and postoperative care.
  4. Perform surgical procedures with preceptor.

Instructional Activities:

  1. Nongraded open-book examination.
  2. Daily one-on-one rounds of all patients with oral question interaction.
  3. Didactic sessions as indicated.
  4. Reading assignments if indicated.

Standards of Performance (Outcomes) Indicating Attainment of Objectives:

  1. Impression of manual skills.
  2. Assessment of appropriate treatment skills and record maintenance.
  3. Overall impression of interest and knowledge.

Criteria for Grading:

Pass/fail/honors based on the total assessment of the person's performance.
