Objectives of the Elective:

Gain knowledge/experience in evaluation and treatment of pulmonary problems.

Learn basics of ventilation management.

Become comfortable with interpretation of PFTs.
Instructional Activities:
-
See inpatients and outpatients with lung diseases.

Read PFTs.
Standards of Performance (Outcomes) Indicating Attainment of Objectives:
-
Able to interpret PFTs.
-
Able to order settings for ventilator management.
-
Able to take history and perform physical exam appropriate for patient.
-
Able to generate list of differential diagnosis, diagnostic and therapeutic
plans.
-
Perform a literature review and oral/written presentation of a topic.
Criteria for Grading:
-
Degree of expertise of above obtained.

Interest shown.
