Objectives of the Electives:

  1. Observe the outpatient clinical adult and pediatric dermatology.
  2. Observe dermatologic surgery technique and procedures.
  3. Observe other forms of dermatology therapy; i.e., inpatient, actino-therapy, etc.

Instructional Activities:

Read about cases seen in clinic.

Standard of performance indicating attainment of objectives, including how this will be documented.

  1. Attendance of all dermatologic clinics and surgeries; i.e., five days a week.
  2. Present and to see patients and help with workup and procedures.
  3. A written evaluation will be presented to the student and to the assistant dean for the appropriate campus.

Criteria for Grading:

  1. Subjective assessment of student.
  2. Ability to answer questions and come up with correct answer if unknown.
  3. General dermatology knowledge at end of rotation.
