Objectives of the Electives:
- Observe the outpatient clinical adult and pediatric dermatology.
- Observe dermatologic surgery technique and procedures.
- Observe other forms of dermatology therapy; i.e., inpatient, actino-therapy,
etc.
Instructional Activities:
Read about cases seen in clinic.
Standard of performance indicating attainment of objectives, including
how this will be documented.
- Attendance of all dermatologic clinics and surgeries; i.e., five days
a week.
- Present and to see patients and help with workup and procedures.
- A written evaluation will be presented to the student and to the assistant
dean for the appropriate campus.
Criteria for Grading:
- Subjective assessment of student.
- Ability to answer questions and come up with correct answer if unknown.
- General dermatology knowledge at end of rotation.
