The student would be required to analyze histories, physical examinations, laboratory and histological findings of gastroenterological patients. He will also be expected to review gastrointestinal radiology. There will be discussions on the diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, including gall bladder, liver and pancreas. Included will be an introduction to gastrointestinal endoscopic indications, techniques and endoscopic findings. An introduction to liver and small bowel biopsy indications, techniques and histologic findings will also be involved.
A written evaluation will be submitted to the assistant dean of the southwest campus.
