Objectives of the Elective:

Evaluation and management of hospitalized patients in the Family Practice
Teaching Service.

Evaluation and management of outpatients in the Grand Forks Family Practice
Residency Clinic.
Instructional Activities:

Hospital rounds on the Family Practice Teaching Service.

Patient work-ups in hospital.
-
Outpatient clinic.
-
Medical, pediatric, geriatric, and behavioral science lectures of the family
practice residency program.
Standards of Performance (Outcomes) Indicating Attainment of Objectives:

Student will be able to appropriately evaluate and effectively manage,
under supervision, patients with undifferentiated problems who require
hospitalization.

Student will be able to appropriately evaluate and effectively manage,
under supervision, patients with undifferentiated problems presenting to
the Grand Forks Family Practice Residency Clinic.
Criteria for Grading:
A written evaluation will be presented to the student and to the assistant
dean for the appropriate campus.
