SIG (Surgery Interest Group)
The Surgery Interest Group is designed to provide information and describe clinical practice to 1st and 2nd year medical students who may be interested in a career in surgery. Topics addressed include: General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Cardio-thoracic, Urology, and Residency Applications. There are six meetings (evenings) held throughout the academic year with food/beverages provided.

Conferences (These are meetings that students are welcome to attend)
- Vascular Conference: 1st Wednesday of each month - 5:00 pm (Altru Hospital Rooms A&B)----Reviews appropriate steps in the diagnosis and management of vascular disease. (Limit 4 students)
- Surgery Grand Rounds: Scheduled Fridays - 12:15 pm (Altru Hospital Rooms A&B)----Topics of surgical interest are presented by residents, faculty, and guest faculty (see lists on Calendar of Events).
- Trauma Rounds: 2nd and 4th Mondays at 7:00 am (Altru Hospital Room E)----Care and management of patients suffering various degrees of trauma are discussed. (Limit 3 students)
