Robert P. Sticca, MD, FACS

Professor of Surgery
Robert P. Sticca is the Chairman, Program Director, and Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He received his MD from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at the Boston University Surgical Training Program. Dr. Sticca also did a Fellowship in Surgical Oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, New York.
Dr. Sticca was an Interim Program Director and Associate Director of Surgical Education at Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina before coming to the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences to serve as Vice Chairman and Program Director, a position he held until May 2005. Dr. Sticca is Board Certified in General Surgery and is a Fellow of the Society of Surgical Oncology. He has expertise in the field of surgical oncology and special interest in gastrointestinal tumors. Dr. Sticca has basic science research interests in tumor immunology and colorectal cancer for which he has established a research lab in the Department of Surgery. In addition, Dr. Sticca is an active participant in many oncology clinical trials and is currently the Surgery Committee Chair for the North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCTG).
