Now, go through the scenario and type your comments accordingly.

You are invited to a retirement party for whom you know very well. You consider this person to be a successful and admirable professional, and you'd like to pay your respect by attending the party. This huge reception was planned by the retiree's family, friends, co-workers, former clients, the community group leaders whom this person volunteered time, and the colleagues in the same profession. As you enter the ballroom, you find your seat and wait for the start of the reception. A designated person from each group is going to speak up and talk about this retiring person. What would each speaker say?

The Speakers (imagine the situation and write the speech outlines):

  1. Family member

  2. Friend

  3. Co-worker

  4. Former client

  5. Community volunteer group leader

  6. Colleague

Retiree's Speech

Now it is the time for the guest of honor to address to the crowd. Try to imagine what this person would say to everyone who gathered to honor him/her?

Write the key points down:

When you are done with writing all the key points of the speeches, click the Send button then scroll down for the final step. NO PEEKING!

The Identity of the Retiree

Now you find out that the people gathered here tonight to honor YOU. What you wrote according to the instructions from the previous two pages probably describes how you'd like to become.

It's important that you start with the end in mind. How you'd like to end up (outcome) should always be in sight. The vision of where everything ends up may be more important than how you start your journey.
