FMed 313 Orthopedic Assessment Proficiency Test
General Guidelines
- You must pass each category; if you fail one section, the entire proficiency test must be repeated.
- It is imperative that you clearly demonstrate and explain during the test so that your actions are acknowledged. The tester cannot grant you points if the demonstration/explanation is incomplete or inadequate.
- You must make an appointment with a clinical instructor (certified member on UND DSM staff) at least three days in advance. Clinical instructor is not obligated to grant you a test if you failed to make an appointment. Repeat test must be administered by the same instructor.
- The grading criteria follows the lecture and lab presented in FMed 481. Your notes on lectures/labs, in combination with practices on technique, should be adequate for passing the test. It has been the staff's experience that the students who have performed many evaluations for injured athletes have less trouble passing this type of tests.
