Julie Blehm, MD
Dr. Blehm is Associate Dean of the Southeast Campus and Associate Professor of Medicine at UND. Dr. Blehm is an internist and geriatrics specialist at MeritCare Health System and is currently clinical director internal medicine residency outpatient clinic in Fargo.

Dr. Blehm received her medical degree from University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Blehm is board certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine. SMHS job duties include:

• Full oversight of campus activities
• UNDSMHS Policy enforcement

Steffen Christensen, MD
Dr. Christensen is Assistant Dean of Student Affairs on the SE Campus.

Dr. Christensen, an Associate Professor of Medicine, also serves as the Vice Chairman and Third Year Clerkship Director for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He maintains an active practice at MeritCare in the Fertility Center.

Dr. Christensen completed his Medical Degree at the University of North Dakota and University of Iowa. He completed his internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center, Grand Rapids, MI; and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at Michael Reese/University of Illinois, Chicago.

His special clinical interests include: Infertility, in vitro fertilization, endometriosis. SMHS job duties include:

William Newman, MD
Dr. Newman is Assistant Dean of Veterans Affairs and Chairman for the Department Internal Medicine at UNDSOM. Dr. Newman, a Professor of Medicine, also serves as the Third Year IM Clerkship Director, and is the Chief of Endocrinology at the VA Medical Center.

Dr. Newman completed his Medical Degree at University of North Dakota School of Medicine and University of Texas Medical School. His residency in Internal Medicine at University of Minnesota Affiliated Hospitals, Minneapolis, MN, and an Endocrinology fellowship at University of Rochester Affiliated Hospitals, Rochester, NY.

His research interests include medical teaching models, evidence-based medicine and diabetes. SMHS job duties include:

• Liaison between UNDSMHS and the VA Medical Center
• Coordinates educational resources at the VAMC
