The mission of the Department of Pediatrics, UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences, is to serve the people of our area by providing teaching, research, and service in all aspects of pediatric care.  Training of medical students, Transitional and Family Practice residents enhances and reaffirms this mission.

The motto of Pediatrics is "The care of children is the finest privilege."  Daily communication with medical students and residents at the bedside, during seminars after rounds and at weekly Grand Rounds as well as during call are always conducted with this credo in mind.

Congratulations to Kelli and the community of Hankinson, North Dakota for selecting Kelli as 2008 Homecoming Queen! This video clip was provided by WDAY and shares with the viewer the "goodness of small-town living" and a young lady who has Down Syndrome who has taught"life Lessons" to so many community members.

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) has launched a web-based tool designed to recruit motivated consumers who will advocate for the family health issues they care about. The new site, The Family Health Advocate, shares information on issues such as the cost of health insurance and patient-centered medical homes, providing links for consumers to contact their elected officials and tips for making effective contact. Consumers can sign up to receive Action Alerts on issues, as well as a monthly e-newsletter. Go to http://www.familyhealthadvocate.org.
