Education/Clinical Background
I have a Bachelor’s degree in
occupational therapy, a Master of Sciences degree in Elementary
Education/Early Childhood Education and Early Childhood
Special Education. My doctoral degree is in Teaching and
Learning, Higher Education. The majority of my clinical
practice has been in the area of pediatrics in special
education cooperatives in Minnesota and Oklahoma. I worked
with children ages birth through 21 with many diagnoses;
I also provided OT services to children with severe multiple
disabilities. While I was in Oklahoma I served as the
Related Services Coordinator, Preschool Coordinator, and
Assistive Technology Coordinator for the cooperative where
I was employed in addition to providing OT services to
the students. I have also had experience in home health,
acute care, and nursing home.

Research/Scholarly Interests
I am interested in all areas of pediatrics - including
early intervention and pediatric mobility - and assistive
technology. I am also interested in the areas of collaborative
teaching, collaborative student learning, student centered
learning, and intervention with interdisciplinary teams.
I have also been involved in collaboratively teaching
an early intervention course with faculty and students
from several different disciplines. In enjoy working with
students in these areas and helping them to plan and write
their scholarly projects.
