A
new, modern research building and an adjacent learning
resources center which together house the research,
library and teaching facilities of the School of Medicine
was constructed in 1994. These facilities provide
a state-of-the-art environment for teaching and research.
The
Microbiology and Immunology Department occupies the
fourth floor of the research building. Other occupants
of the research building include the Departments of
Anatomy and Cell Biology, Biochemistry and Molecular
Biology, Pharmacology, Physiology and Therapeutics.
Additional resources in neighboring buildings include
the Department of Pathology, the Energy and Environmental
Research Center, the USDA Human Nutrition Center and
the Computer Center. The proximity of these departments
and facilities provides the opportunity for cooperative
and collaborative research and training in the basic
sciences.
