Grading and Research Awards

Final grades for the Epidemiology Course will be Honors (90% and 90th percentile), Satisfactory (60-89%), or Unsatisfactory (<60%). The Epidemiology Course grade is comprised of the Research Paper (70%), Presentation (20%), and Homework (10%). Final Research Papers that are viewed as "Unsatisfactory" will be returned for revision until a "Satisfactory" grade is achieved. Please see Research Paper and Presentation sections below for areas to address.

Also, your Epidemilogy Course grade percentage accounts for 25% of your Family Medicine Clerkship grade (Please see below and the FM Clerkship manual).

EPIDEMIOLOGY COURSE COMPONENTS:
Research Paper-70% of final grade
The following scale rating of your field research project is meant as an overview of the strengths and nonstrengths of the project. For specific recommendations for publication/presentation, please contact the Department of Family Medicine and Community Medicine.

Awards
The Department of Family and Community Medicine Research Committee has several awards, totaling over $5,000, for outstanding research projects. These awards are assigned by the Department of Family Medicine Research Committee after extensive review of submitted projects.
