SpamAssassin Filtering in IMP
The new webmail system has the ability to easily setup filters for dealing with messages flagged as possible spam by SpamAssassin. These filters are "server-side" filters, which means they are active no matter which clients you use, such as the web-based e-mail, Thunderbird, Outlook, Eudora, etc.
Click on "Filters"
In the web-based e-mail click on "Filters" on the left side menu, under "Mail"
Make sure you have a Junk folder
First, make sure you have a folder named "Junk" or "Junk E-mail" in your mail account. Most users will have a "Junk" folder by default. If you don't have one, you'll have to make it manually. Once you have a place for the spam to go, click on the "Spam Filter" rule.
Check your settings
Make sure the 'Folder to receive spam" shows the name of a folder that really exists.
The "Spam Level" is an integer (3,4,5,6,...) that can be adjusted up or down, "5" is the default. Higher numbers will catch less spam (basically raising the bar so that messages have to have more things wrong with them before they're caught by the filter). Lower numbers will catch more spam, but also increase the chances a legitimate message will be mistaken for junk.
Click "Save and Enable" when you're finished.
Success
You should see "Changes saved", "Rule Enabled", and "Script successfully activated".
