Research Consultant and Assistant Professor of Psychology
Dr. Poltavski joined CHPPR in August 2003 as CHPPR’s Senior Research Analyst.
In addition to conducting statistical analyses on CHPPR projects, Dr. Poltavski provided training
in statistical methods and program evaluation strategies to CHPPR graduate students and staff.
He has also been actively involved in report and grant writing, manuscript preparation and CHPPR
website maintenance. Dr. Poltavski received his doctorate in experimental psychology from the
University of North Dakota in 2003. His past and current research focuses on cognitive effects of nicotine
administered via a transdermal patch in both smokers and non-smokers. In August 2009 Dr. Poltavski
received a full-time academic appointment in the Department of Psychology but continues to collaborate
with CHPPR as a research consultant.
