Financial Assistance

The Anatomy and Cell Biology Department has eight half-time graduate teaching assistantships (GTA) available to graduate students. One or more graduate research assistantships (GRA) also may be available through individual faculty members. Most assistantships are half-time positions that require approximately fifteen hours of work per week and require students to carry a minimum of six and no more than ten credits of graduate work each semester. Tuition waivers will be awarded independently of stipends.

GTA/GRA half-time for the academic year (9 months)

  • $1,693.58 monthly stipend
  • A tuition waiver may or may not be awarded

Summer stipends are provided by the department on a seniority basis. Recipients must commit to 12 weeks of full-time study.

Other Financial Aid Possibilities

Graduate School Summer Doctoral Fellowships of $5,000 plus a waiver of tuition for the summer are available to doctoral students who plan to work on their dissertations/research full time during the summer. Fellowship submissions are due early in the spring semester, and each submission will be evaluated on the basis of an application and recommendations from the advisor and the chairperson.
